PREVENTION RESOURCE CENTER REGION 3
The regional Prevention Resource Centers (PRC) were implemented by the office of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention (ADAP) Division of Behavioral Health, Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services, to form an infrastructure for alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention within the state. The role of the PRC is to promote the development of a statewide prevention system by mobilizing and facilitating prevention efforts of communities, schools, agencies and organizations. It is the role of the PRC to effectively address the challenges citizens face to prevent alcohol and drug abuse and to make their communities healthier. PRCís form a system to support the work of coalitions, community and neighborhood organizations, constituency groups and citizens to plan, develop, implement and sustain effective prevention initiatives.
